Billy Joe Saunders and David Lemieux has not been made official just yet but rumours are strong and both fighters are keen to fight.
After a very long layoff, Saunders was scheduled to fight interim champ Avtandil Khurtdsidze but that obviously took a bad left turn and got cancelled. The WBO middleweight champion is looking to get back in action on September 16th and Lemieux has accepted the challenge.
“C*** boy are you next in line so let’s go,” wrote Saunders according to boxingscene.com
The heavy-handed Canadian did not pull any punches with his response and fired back.
“I can’t wait to make you bleed and take that belt away from you. I’m going to destroy you. See you soon pussy,” responded Lemieux.
Saunders hasn’t fought since December 2016 when he beat Artur Akavov via unanimous decision. Lemieux has been a lot more active and has already fought twice this year against Curtis Stevens and Marcos Reyes. If they fight on September 16th, the winner is expected to face Golovkin or Canelo in a unification bout.
