Billy Joe Saunders is known for being one of more vocal boxers in the UK. He talks a lot and means what he says but, in the midst of talking – he hasn’t been fighting.
The current WBO world middleweight champion has been out for 18 months and during this span, he’s been linked to several fights but nothing came to fruition.
The defending WBO champion hasn’t been very lucky, to say the least, but he has a date set against Willie Monroe Jr on September 16th. He admits that it’s high time that he starts performing in the ring as well.
For the last year been to much talking from me I have to say ' time to start performing at the level I Nw I can tune 16th Sep @boxnationtv

“Can’t wait till my fight…I’ll show you what I’m about,” added Saunders according to Boxnation.
Saunders last fought against Artur Akavov in December 2016. He’s defended the title just once after winning it back in 2015.
Should he retain against Monroe Jr, he’ll most likely face the winner of Canelo-Golovkin.
