Billy Joe Saunders is exactly a month away from his fourth title defence against Martin Murray.
But at the start of the year, Saunders said it was his goal to become the undisputed world middleweight champion. So in his mind, he certainly has bigger fish to fry with the winner of the Canelo – Golovkin rematch.

The WBO world middleweight champion shared that he will hope the undefeated concussive Kazakh powerhouse Golovkin comes through that fight as the victor because he doesn’t believe Canelo will have the courage to face him.
“I know Canelo doesn’t want it [the fight] but Golovkin will.”
“So I’m hoping Golovkin wins so we can have that big unification.”
“If he doesn’t then there are plenty of other big fights out there for me,” said Saunders.
But the Hatfield slickster shared it is imperative that his focus doesn’t draw away from his upcoming battle against Martin Murray on April 14th.
“The main thing is I can’t overlook Murray. I can’t say I’m looking into this one or that.”

Everyone goes on about the Golovkin fight but Martin Murray is not beat yet,” Saunders said.
Saunders shared that he has a lot of respect for what Martin Murray will bring to the ring as a game challenger.
“He’s training very hard and been in with the greats.”
“He brings a hard fight and he’s got very good experience and that goes a long way in the boxing ring,” Saunders added.
There has been speculation over to where the promotional future of ‘The Superb’ Billy Joe Saunders lies in the future. That speculation heated up when it became clear the ice had thawed between Eddie Hearn and Billy Joe Saunders.
Saunders shared he feels no reason to change and intends to be loyal to Frank Warren.
“I’ve been loyal to Frank Warren from day one and continue to be loyal with him.”
“I’m a man of my word. Frank Warren has been very good to me and I’ve earned some serious money with Frank,” Saunders said.
“Would I have earned the same money with Eddie Hearn that I earned with Frank Warren? I don’t think so.”
“I still think Frank Warren is one of the best promoters in Europe because of how he builds fighters. I’m a Frank Warren man and I’m happy where I’m at,” he added.
