Billy Joe Saunders said at the beginning of the year, that he was planning to become the undisputed world middleweight champion this year.
Golovkin, the undefeated world middleweight kingpin has shared a willingness to take on anyone presented to him.
He currently holds leverage over the rest of the division, in his search for a big fight with Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin.

‘BJS’ currently holds the WBO world middleweight title and boasts an unblemished record which will hold his name in good stead as the contenders are being analysed for Golovkin’s next fight.
Golovkin’s planned May 5th showdown with Mexico’s 2-weight world champion, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez was scrapped after it was revealed that ‘Canelo’ had tested positive for the substance Clenbuterol on both February 17th and February 20th of this year.
The Nevada State Athletic commission made the move to temporarily suspend the popular Mexican. Whether that suspension is extended or rescinded, it will be confirmed at a hearing on the 18th April.
The brash Billy Joe Saunders has made no effort to hide his true feelings and he once again voiced his displeasure at the Mexican’s situation.
Saunders commented that he believes Alvarez is a ‘cheat’ and a ‘liar.’

“I think ‘Canelo’ has been caught out.”
“I think he’s an absolute cheat and an absolute liar. End of story.”
Billy Joe Saunders was scheduled to return to the ring in the coming days, against Martin Murray at London’s 02 Arena on April 14th.
That fight, however fell through after Saunders sustained an injury to his hand.
Saunders now says, he is not interested in facing off with any other fighter besides the number one middleweight in world boxing, ‘GGG’.
“I’m not interested in fighting anyone else. Golovkin is the one I want.”

“He keeps saying he wants to unify – well here I am and I’m ready to have it with him.”
Some could say Saunders is taking his eye of the ball, ahead of a rescheduled date with Martin Murray.
”I’m not looking past Murray because he’s a dangerous opponent.”
“But I’m inspired by what winning my next fight could bring,” Saunders concluded.
