In his last performance, ‘The Superb’ Billy Joe Saunders masterfully thoroughly outpointed Canada’s hard-punching knockout sensation, David Lemieux.
In what many expected to be a genuine 50-50 matchup ended up as a drab one-sided beatdown.
The Canadian struggled to even lay a glove on Lemieux.
Saunders first-class performance caught the eyes of many admirers and he finally found some acclaim as a prominent fixture on the middleweight scene.
Even the recently retired all-time great, Floyd Mayweather paid tribute to Saunders.
“I like Billy Joe Saunders. He’s real smart. Hell of a boxer. He’s got good movement,” said Mayweather to Fighthype.
”He’s going to give a lot of them guys problems. He can box,” Mayweather said.
Additionally, the WBO world middleweight champion Saunders shared his goal moving forwards in 2018 will be to become the undisputed world middleweight champion.

Murray now remains one of the last British fighters on the middleweight scene who is yet to lock horns with Saunders.
If Saunders is successful against Murray he will add him to a long list of conquered British middleweights.
That list features Andy Lee, Chris Eubank Jr, Spike O’Sullivan, John Ryder and Nick Blackwell.
Victory for Saunders will see the Hatfield native move one step closer to a mega-event with the winner of the Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez – Gennady Golovkin rematch.
That rematch could be for all the marbles in the middleweight division.
In the other World Title clash on the card, unbeaten former WBO World Lightweight Champion Terry Flanagan faces unbeaten American Maurice Hooker for the WBO World Super-Lightweight Championship.

That will be his first contest at the weight.
Flanagan had defended his 135lb World Title 5 times before relinquishing the belt to move to Super-Lightweight.
A more comfortable weight class for his stature.
