The latest boxing news today focuses on some of the biggest names in boxing.
And they rarely come bigger than Terence Crawford, who scored some of the most meaningful wins in the sport’s modern era when he delivered an all-time great welterweight thrashing against Errol Spence Jr. in 2023, and arguably one-upped that two years later when he jumped across the super welterweight and middleweight divisions to out-class Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez at 168 pounds, to take all of the Mexican legend’s world championship titles.
The American retired shortly after as a legend.
But, despite his decision to hang up the gloves, speculation remains that he may one day return. Perhaps to compete at middleweight — the one division he could target that he’s not yet won a world title in, which would see him, if successful, become a six-weight world champion alongside only Oscar de la Hoya.
Even the sport’s financier, Turki Alalshikh, posted recently on X, formerly Twitter, albeit with a smirk, that “maybe” ‘Bud’ would return in 2027 once he’s exhausted some of the prize money he won.
Perhaps referencing this in a video he posted on social media, Crawford said:
“They still want me to come out of retirement and whoop some people.”

“What more can I ask for, man? I’m blessed. Life is beautiful right now, and I’m enjoying every bit of it.”
Doesn’t look like he has any care in the world, especially one that could guide him back into a boxing ring.
And, elsewhere, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez generated headlines when Eddy Reynoso confirmed the fighter would attend the Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez vs David Benavidez headliner not for that fight itself, but, rather, to support his stablemate (and former opponent) Jaime Munguia.
“I just came to see Jaime Mungia,” he said.
