Caleb Plant will be making the second defence of his IBF super-middleweight championship against heavy-handed German challenger Vincent Feigenbutz at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Last Summer, ‘Sweet Hands’ effortlessly dispatched of Mike Lee in what was the maiden defence of his crown on the Thurman-Pacquiao undercard, and will be looking to extend his reign with another impressive performance after outpointing Jose Uzcategui for the belt in January 2019.
Feigenbutz, naturally, will have other ideas and will believe that his power punching and aggressive approach will be key factors in dethroning an assured champion who has never tasted defeat as a professional.
Ashland City native Plant, meanwhile, will keen to showcase his skills in his home state as one of the growing number of top American boxing talents representing the South. The IBF champion’s charisma and confidence outside the ring is bolstered by his composure and slick counter-punching style inside of it. Indeed, Plant has proved that he has the substance to complement his undeniably pretty style, as evidenced by his calmness under pressure in his comfortable triumph over the tough, rugged ‘Bolivita’ in January 2019.
Feigenbutz in recent years suffered a reverse to Giovanni di-Carolis after contentionally outpointing the Italian in the first fight. Despite his physical strength combined with his other clear qualities, it is reasonable to expect that Feigenbutz’s swashbuckling disposition could prove to be his downfall, as Plant’s superior accuracy and timing ultimately proves to be the difference in the end.
