Former WBA super-featherweight champion Carl Frampton has revealed an official date for his next fight. ‘The Jackal’ will make his comeback on July 29th in Belfast.
“July 29th – keep it free. I can’t wait to box at home. Press conference will be in the next week and tickets will go on sale straight after. #Homecoming,” wrote Frampton on Twitter.
In his last fight, Frampton suffered his first ever professional defeat in a rematch against Leo Santa Cruz. He also lost his WBA belt in the process. He had high hopes of fighting Santa Cruz for the third time but his former foe is expected to fight Abner Marez according to the Daily Mail. Another potential name was IBF champion Lee Selby but he is set to face mandatory challenger Johnny Barros.
Although Frampton’s opponent has not been yet announced. But it’s expected that the future foe will be announced sometime this week.
