Carl Froch continues to lay into Anthony Joshua following comments about his relationship with former coach Rob McCracken, his ‘awful’ performance against Helenius, and now his ‘unprofessional’ moves in the aftermath of that fight at the O2 in London.
Things really heated up between the two Brits when Joshua pointed to ‘Froch’s nose’ as evidence that McCracken, once a coach to both men, didn’t teach him defense. Since then he has continued to direct plenty of ire at Joshua.
Speaking on his own Froch on Fighting channel, his latest views are on Joshua’s behaviour immediately after he knocked out Helenius in the seventh round of their fight in earlier this month.
“He had all swellings under his eyes, his nose was pissing with blood, his mouth was all bleeding, as we saw when he jumped out of the ring which was a bit strange, he had a slurp of that nasty Irish stout that Conor McGregor shoved into his face. He had all blood and snot and sweat inside that pint.
And how unprofessional is that? AJ jumps out the ring, bit disrespectful as well, Helenius is receiving medical attention, he jumps out the ring, OK fair play, go and see your dad, your family, you’ve just won a fight, you wanted to get the victory and there’s a lot of pressure on you, but don’t go over the Conor McGregor who is trying to steal the show.”
Froch then said Joshua should never have had a sip of a drink given to him by Conor Mcgregor as it could have been contaminated ahead of a post fight drugs test.
“He shouldn’t have drunk that stout, that stout could have been contaminated. You’ve got to do a post-fight drug test after. Very unprofessional.”
