Former super-middleweight champion, Carl Froch, has announced that he would be willing to take on two-division UFC king, Conor McGregor, in his own domain.
The Cobra was a three-time champion of the world and gained a reputation of taking on all comers. He ended his career with a run of twelve consecutive world title fights, with his final bout being a historic knockout victory over George Groves.
Last year, he and McGregor collided in a social media spat, with the Brit now angling for a fight after the UFC poster boy labelled him a “toffee nose t***pot” and threatened to twist his neck off.
On Froch’s YouTube channel, the Nottingham boxing legend went one step further with his call-out, claiming that he would be happy to face McGregor in the cage.
“I would fight Conor McGregor in the cage. I could be getting myself in trouble here, or into a position that I can’t wiggle out of, but I think I would take him on in the cage. Is that ridiculous? Is that wrong?”
“I’d take him on in the cage. He is too small, isn’t he?”
Despite Froch continuing to prod the nest of the ‘Notorious’ one, McGregor seems to have ignored the Brit since their initial online conflict and has shown no interest in a bout with the 45-year-old.
Instead, McGregor’s focus remains on reclaiming his UFC throne, after recovering from a long-term injury, and is due to enter to Octagon for the first time since sustaining a broken tibia and fibula in July 2021, facing Michael Chandler later this year.
