Jospeh Parker looks to announce himself on the big stage once again when he faces American knockout artist, Deontay Wilder.
The heavyweight from New Zealand won the vacant WBO World Title against Andy Ruiz Jr back in 2016 and would defend it twice before losing to Anthony Joshua.
He has since fallen short against both Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce, but built up three wins this year to set him up for Wilder.
What Wilder has over Parker in power, he absolutely lacks in activity. The man from Alabama has fought just once in the last two years, and that lasted all of one round.
Despite the potential ring rust, former super-middleweight champion Carl Froch believes that Wilder will add a 43rd knockout to his record.
“I think Wilder does do the business against Joseph Parker. Joseph Parker is always a capable fighter. He’s got that loss to Dillian Whyte, he’s been in a couple of close fights, obviously Anthony Joshua’s already beaten him.
I would expect Deontay Wilder to probably beat Parker in style. Knock him out. Parker won a couple weeks ago, decent little win. He spends a lot of time with Tyson Fury and he’s training with him, so he’s capable and he’s only 30 so he’s young enough to still come again.
But at this stage of his career this is a money fight for him and a fight that he’s probably not gonna be expected to win.”
The two former world champions will meet on December 23, with Anthony Joshua-Otto Wallin also taking place and, should both Wilder and Joshua win, a long-awaited clash is expected to follow.
