Tommy Fury’s next fight is against rapper and YouTuber turned boxer KSI and Carl Froch only sees it going one way but blasts it as ‘a load of sh*t.’
Fury was last out against Jake Paul. He is still rather a novice pro with just 9 fights under his belt. Early on he fought journeymen before stepping up for the high profile bout with Jake Paul in February.
Fury was put down in that fight but managed to take a points win, much to the relief of the boxing world.
Now he goes up against KSI at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday, 14 October. The first press conference was something of a pantomime with Fury’s father John upturning tables and beating his chest while calling out anyone who would listen.
Speaking on his YouTube channel now the fight is approaching, ‘The Cobra’ was clear that he thinks Fury will get the win, even though he admitted KSI can fight a bit.
“KSI can have a go. He can fight a bit, throw punches and stand up straight, they’re white-collar fighters. I just think Tommy Fury will beat up KSI and beat him quite convincingly on points unless he catches him and irons him out.”
Froch then said he doesn’t have too much love for these cross-over match ups.
“If he doesn’t win I don’t care. I’d like Tommy Fury to win. It’s not great for boxing if he loses. He’s a novice pro so it’s not so bad if you get beat if you’re earning mega money, but it’s all a load of rubbish. It’s a load of sh*t, but it’s entertaining.”
The six-round cruiserweight match-up will be shown live on DAZN PPV.
