Never one to hold back on his opinions, Carl Foch has gone on a massive rant about the behaviour of John Fury.
The father of the WBC and lineal heavyweight champion of the world hit the headlines again earlier this week after he landed a headbutt on a member of Team Usyk in the build-up to the much anticipated undisputed fight this weekend.
The 59-year-old was in the lobby of a hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia when members of both teams came together and began chanting their own man’s surname. Fury took exception and reacted with violence.
Now, talking to his own Froch on Fighting podcast, ‘The Cobra’ has had his say with a man he has gone back and forth with many times over the last year or so.
“What’s my lasting memory of the show? Big Joh nFury the fighting man. Drops the nut on some small skinny kid. Cuts his head open, bruises the other kid and makes a mockery of boxing and disgusts and disgraces the room. He should be embarrassed, it’s just not acceptable, I don’t know why he’s done it.”
He then went in hard on Fury, who has since apologised.
“Nobody was throwing punches or dropping headbutts on anybody but no Big John Fury wants to get involved and get his piece of the action. Typical big bully, picked the smallest guy in there and dropped the nut on him but Karma’s a b**ch, he came off worse.
“What an idiot, how can you land a headbutt on somebody, the Glasgow kiss, and come off worse. That’s a devastating loss. He should be done for assault. I don’t know what’s happening but it’s all being swept under the carpet.
“It should be called out so I’m here to call it out. He’s calling the sport into disrepute, it’s disgusting and terrible that people will be watching this fight and there will be young kids trying to get into the sport and see the bad attention it’s bringing the sport. Absolutely disgraceful, he should be embarrassed.”
This is not the first time Fury has caused a scene at press conferences and might not be the last.
