What seemed like just another average press conference eventually escalated into chaos.
Chris Eubank Jr will face Avni Yildirim this Saturday in Stuttgart, Germany and the winner advances to the semi-finals of the World Boxing Super Series-tournament. There really wasn’t much spark behind the fight but there is some now.
Yildirim’s manager Ahmet Oner called Eubankr Jr ‘arrogant’ and then went on a profanity rant and threatened one of Eubank’s teammates. Oner later explained his actions that he was provoked by ‘racist comments’.
Here’s the video of the incident.

After the press conference Oner went on social media and posted an explanation and the reason behind his actions. Eubank Jr also commented on what happened.
Shit happens … I just can't stand when people disrespect me, my country and my people. This had nothing to do with @ChrisEubankJr, he's a good guy and will show a good fight. It was this other idiot who provoked me with racist comments. @WBSuperSeriespic.twitter.com/zvxYmHQWkh

Eubank Jr also posted a tweet and shared his opinion of the incident.
“This is how a trainer acts when he knows his fighter is going to get severely dealt with in a couple of days,” wrote the British boxer.
