Chris Eubank Jr is the second British fighter this week to announce he is a free agent, and his promoter has now responded to those claims.
Eubank hasn’t fought since back-to-back fights with Liam Smith. He lost the first one with his first ever knockout defeat, then won the return with a knockout of his own.
He has been linked with a fight with Conor Benn ever since they were set to meet in October 2022 before Benn failed two drug tests.
He has since failed to get back his license to fight under the British Boxing Board of Control but is constantly mentioned as an opponent for everyone from Terence Crawford to Billy Joe Saunders, who Eubank lost to way back in 2014.
Speaking to Boxing Social, Kalle Sauerland spoke abut Eubank recently suggesting he might be a free agent.
“I’m not going to start doing my laundry out in public. Listen, we’re talking on a day-to-day basis about what’s out there. We’ve spoken 10 times this week and it’s only Thursday.
“We’ve been many years together so we’re trying to work out a good way moving forwards and that always revolves around fights cause they’re boxers, they want to fight.
“There are lots of options out there but it’s working out what is the right way. He’s at a critical part of his career so he’s got to make that right call.”
