If you thought the Conor Benn case couldn’t take an even stranger turn, think again.
The undefeated welterweight failed two doping test in 2022, and his career has been in limbo ever since.
After receiving 270 pages of evidence from Benn and conducting an investigation, the World Boxing Council – one of the four major sanctioning bodies in the sport of boxing – found ‘no conclusive evidence’ of intentional ingestion on Benn’s part, and listed a ‘reasonable explanation’ as his excessive consumption of eggs.
Enter Domino’s Pizza marketing team, who decided to create a pizza for the fighter – or a picture of one, at least. The Conor Benn special’s main ingredients are pepperoni and, you guessed it, eggs. It’s believed many are considering it to be better than pineapple.
Despite now having his name on the board, Benn said that he preferred rival-chain, Pizza Hut. Bizarrely, it’s his first public statement since the WBC’s favourable ruling.

Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, told Boxing Social that Benn will be releasing an official statement as to the WBC’s findings in due course once he speaks to his legal team.
With his return to the world rankings now confirmed, ‘The Destroyer’ may now focus on the British Boxing Board of Control’s investigation into his doping tests.
They said that, whilst they respect the WBC, the conclusion presented today would have no bearing on their own case, and that they have not received the same evidence.
If things stay that way, Benn will have to look elsewhere for a license to box, and it will be an obstacle-laden course to attempt to fight in England.
It appears that by not submitting the same dossier to the BBBofC, Benn believes what the pages contain is on a knead-to-know basis… As of writing, Pizza Hut haven’t responded, and Papa Johns is staying silent on the matter.
