Conor McGregor is doing all he can to prepare against Floyd Mayweather Jr in August. He recently sparred with former IBF welterweight champion Chris Van Heerden and the verdict is out.
According to Van Heerden, he was out of shape and just returned from a vacation when he sparred McGregor. TMZ Sports asked him if Conor can stop Mayweather and the former champ replied “No.”
“I landed at will. I lit him up. It’s crazy to think that people compare a 0-0 boxer to a legend,” said Van Heeren.
The sparring session proved that Van Heerden (25-2-1) could basically do whatever he wanted with the two-weight UFC champion.
“I’m no Floyd, I’m no Mayweather and I was out of shape and I landed on McGregor,” told Van Heerden.
He believes that McGregor will get absolutely outclassed against Mayweather and he encourages people to stop hyping up the Irishman.
“People telling me Mayweather will his hands full trying to land on Conor. Stop it,” commented Van Heerden.
Mayweather and McGregor will fight on August 26th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
