Darren Till is ready and willing to entertain a Carl Froch fight in the boxing ring, believing he would ‘punch his head in.’
The MMA star from Liverpool confirmed that he asked to be removed from the UFC’s roster recently, and has since announced that he’s exploring an entrance into boxing.
Till joked with IFL TV that he loves to wind up the former world champion, and said he’d ‘love to fight’ him when he makes that switch.
“I always give it to Carl Froch. And he’s someone who bites a lot. He’s only a b****nd, isn’t he? I’d love to fight Carl. Not saying he’s a s**t boxer or anything, just at this stage now I think I’d punch his head in. I do. I’m gonna get a lot stick for that.”
“It’s a money fight in England, especially. He’s a big name in boxing, I’m a big name in MMA. I know he’s been out the game for a few years, so I’d love a fight like that. It’s not like he’s not a legitimate boxer, is it?”
‘The Cobra’ has toyed with the idea of a ring return, but has said that it would take big money to pull him out of retirement and back into the ring.
It would purely be for fun, though, with his legacy already cemented, as proven by the recent announcement that he’s one of the latest round of fighters to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame.
He perhaps came the closest to fighting again during a recent back and forth with brash American YouTuber turned fighter, Jake Paul. Froch said he would discuss facing Paul if he beat Tommy Fury, but that didn’t happen.
