David Haye is currently preparing for his highly anticipated May 5th rematch date against Tony Bellew.
Yesterday, he revealed the progress he has made since suffering the bicep injury which pushed back the original fight date in late December 2017.
He was working on shortening up his punches and focusing on how he can set up his offence with his coach Ismael Salas.
We are into the 12 week count down until #HayeBellew2#TheRematch I've been working hard behind closed doors with @ismaelsalas8 to be as devastating and explosive as possible. May 5th @TheO2, you won't want to miss it!! #TheRematchpic.twitter.com/qIwz1HmUMM

This bodes well for Haye after he looked almost lost trying to find his mark with big punches in his first fight with Bellew.
However, his promotional company is guiding the career of Joe Joyce and he recently caught up with a local South London news outlet to discuss his efforts in trying to make a fight between Joyce and the seasoned Dereck Chisora on the undercard of his rematch against Bellew.
Haye shared he made an opening offer of £80,000 directly to Chisora and that offer was turned down by ‘Del Boy’.
“I’ve offered Chisora £80,000 to fight in March against Joe and he straight-up said no – £80k to fight a two-fight novice,” Haye told the South London Press and Mercury.

Haye shared that he does intend to make another offer to Chisora to secure the matchup. However, he implored boxing fans to heap the public pressure on Chisora to coerce him into accepting the fight.
“This was a couple of weeks back. I probably can rustle up a bit more on the undercard [of Haye’s fight with Tony Bellew on May 5].”
“Let’s keep public pressure on Dereck to fight Joe Joyce on May 5, drive him mad. We need to force him to take this fight.”

Lastly, Haye shared that if Chisora is hesitant to go up against a relative novice on the back of a loss, he will have few other viable options.
“Dereck Chisora is a well-seasoned campaigner.”
“If he doesn’t fight a 1-0 fighter, although he is an Olympic silver medallist, after coming off a loss then what else are his options.”
