Deontay Wilder seems to have some sort of problem with the explosive, legendary 2-time world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
Last week, Wilder seemed to insinuate, rather hilariously that he would dismiss the challenge of a prime Tyson circa 1986 with relative ease.

The great 3-time world heavyweight champion and just like Tyson, was the last in a long line of the men during the thriving era of the 1990’s to hold undisputed world heavyweight title, Lennox Lewis added his opinion on those comments.
Lewis responded by dismissing those comments. Lewis shared that it is simply folly for Wilder to make such comparisons and told him the truth by saying he has never been in the ring with anyone that ferocious ‘who wants to break your ribs with every punch’.
Yesterday while live streaming on social media, from his vehicle. The WBC world heavyweight champion once again touched on the topic of Mike Tyson and he launched yet another scathing attack on his legacy.
“How many Hall-of-Famers did Mike Tyson actually fight?” Wilder began.
“Don’t bring up no mother******* Michael Spinks. He came from light heavyweight to heavyweight and he was f*****g terrified out of his boots;”
“Don’t bring up Larry Holmes. We already know Larry was way past his prime.”
“People don’t do their research about s**t. (People say) Oh my God, Mike Tyson he is crazy. Shut the f**k up, you don’t know what your talking about.”
“Only two Hall-of-Famers my n****r! Only two!”
“Holyfield beat him twice and then Lennox beat him;” Wilder added.
“Go back and do your f*****g history. Everybody else was scared, they weren’t (no) Hall-of-Famers.”
“Do your facts and research, as a man I can take and accept criticism. I actually like it, I laugh at the shit.
When you know the truth and people try to muscle you up and sour your sandwich out.”
It must be noted, Wilder made some very valid points when disputing Tyson’s legacy.

But the fact it comes from the Alabama native is what I imagine rubs readers the wrong way. What gives Wilder the right to go after the youngest heavyweight champion of all time and target his resume.
What makes this situation all the more peculiar is that Wilder’s focus was Tyson’s resume.
The humorous side of this stems from Wilder and how he has padded his record with lowly ranked contenders and seems intent on not even facing off with the best of his era.
He shirked the challenges issued to him by ‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury when he was the lineal and unified titleholder in 2015.
Additionally, he and his team have thrown up roadblocks when Anthony Joshua only recently sought him out for a unification showdown.
