The undefeated WBC world heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder is fresh from making the seventh defence of his title against the previously undefeated Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz.
He earned a considerable amount of recognition for that victory. Many felt he had finally earned his stripes as a champion with his first formidable test.

Catching up with Premier Boxing Champions, the network that airs the WBC heavyweight champion’s fights, Wilder shared he is no longer going to bang the drum and attempt to goad Joshua into a unification clash due to his previous efforts turning out to be fruitless.
“I’ve done enough calling Joshua out. How many times do I have to do that?”
Wilder says he is content to just wait for Joshua to seek him out because he knows he is an obstacle in his path for Joshua’s plans to prove himself the standout heavyweight of the current era of heavyweight contenders.
“I am the blockage and the end of the line for his career and he knows it. That’s scary for him,” Wilder told Premier Boxing Champions.
Following his victory against Ortiz, Wilder claimed that his victory against Ortiz was a more impressive feat than Joshua disposing of Wladimir Klitschko inside of 11 rounds.

Wilder cited the fact his opponent was undefeated, whereas on the other hand, Wladimir was coming off an extended period of inactivity following enduring a comprehensive boxing lesson at the hands of ‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury.
“Ortiz was undefeated. Klitschko was already dethroned and coming off of almost a two-year layoff,” Wilder said.
Additionally, Wilder also says Joshua already knows his fate, that he will suffer a loss. Wilder has promised that he will be the man to secure that fate for Joshua.
He plans on exposing Joshua’s supposed fatigue problems and ‘turning up the heat’ on Joshua when he runs out of gas.

“[Joshua] knows he’s gonna lose one day, and that it’s going to be against me. I know I’m going to knock him out. He’ll show courage until he runs out of gas,” said Wilder.
“Then it’s life and death for him. Once he’s tired, I see him giving up. Once that happens, I’m going to turn up the heat on him and it’s a wrap. They may throw in the towel.”
