Derek Chisora Calls For Deontay Wilder Rematch

Derek Chisora has made his stance clear — he wants Deontay Wilder and nothing else.

The beloved British heavyweight, by way of Zimbabwe, has made it official: he’s coming back to boxing. His sights are set on one man—the last man—Deontay Wilder. In an interview with talkSPORT, Chisora reflected on last week’s epic clash with Wilder.

“I’m very upset with the scoring and everything,” Chisora said. “The two knockdowns I was given were pushes. The stupid ring they put up as well. The ropes were so loose that it was just an embarrassment.”

He continued with visible frustration. “So I wasn’t happy with that. I’ll be honest with you. The whole thing was in shambles. On my side and his side as well, so everyone was in shambles. But I want to get a rematch.”

The bout in question took place at the O2 Arena in front of a sold out crowd. Wilder edged Chisora by split decision after a competitive and chaotic contest.

Many expected that fight to mark the end of Chisora’s long career. Promoters billed it as his 50th and final appearance. Instead, it has sparked yet another comeback.

Derek Chisora believes the result did not tell the full story. He also feels the conditions inside the ring played a role.

Despite the loss, Chisora showed his usual toughness. He pressed forward and forced exchanges. The crowd responded to his aggression throughout the fight.

Meanwhile, Wilder relied on timing and power. He scored the two knockdowns that helped sway the judges.

Now, Chisora hopes to settle the dispute in a second fight. He sees it as unfinished business.

This is not the first time he has teased retirement. His previous bout against Otto Wallin carried the label “Last Dance.”

However, Chisora later clarified those comments in an interview with Brunch Boxing. He said the phrase only referred to his final fight in Manchester.

That explanation now feels like a preview of what followed. Retirement, for Chisora, has often been flexible.

Even so, fans continue to embrace his returns. His all action style and honesty keep him relevant. Each comeback adds another chapter to a unique career.

Whether the rematch happens remains uncertain. Wilder has other options in a crowded heavyweight division, including a potential bout with Oleksandr Usyk.
