Derek Chisora has been out of the ring a while as he waits for the right opponent for his next fight and has now revealed that he has sent an offer to fight a fellow British heavyweight rival.
Chisora is a real warrior of the modern age who has been in the top 10 for over a decade. He runs from no one and is always in engaging and entertaining fights.
The now 40-year-old fought Oleksandr Usyk at heavyweight and pushed him hard, has battled Tyson Fury three times, Dillian Whyte twice, Kubrat Pulev, Joseph Parker twice, David Price and was last out with a victory over Gerald Washington back in August 2023.
Speaking to IFL TV, he was asked about what options he has right now and revealed an offer from a British rival.
“Frank Warren has reached out to me for Joe Joyce. It interests me but I don’t want it when they want it. They want it the end of the year.”
He was then asked if he had other options.
“I’ve got Baby Miller, people offer fights, but do they really wanna fight? They make phone calls and sound you out then don’t phone again.”
Finally, he was asked if he still had the desire to fight.
“I’ve still got it badly man. I still want smoke, I want violence. We are in a violent era now, you understand? People want violence. And I want violence.”
Chisora has said he only wants the biggest fights at this stage of his career, and Joe Joyce would surely fit the bill.
