British heavyweight veteran, Derek Chisora has become more and more involved in the Saudi Arabian boxing scene and has offered some straightforward advice to Tommy Fury, ahead of Sunday’s scrap with Jake Paul.
Chisora challenged for the heavyweight world title in December, for the first time in his long fifteen-year career. Unfortunately, ‘Del Boy’ was outclassed on the night and although there have been calls for the 39-year-old to retire, Chisora seems determined to hang around in the division, but that hasn’t stopped him trying his hand at promoting fights.
Chisora seems to have assumed a role helping to promote fights in Saudi Arabia and his first Paul’s test against Fury.
Whilst the ‘Problem Child’ boasts a record of 6-0, he is yet to face a professional boxer and the Brit has agreed to put his proud family name on the line and attempt to put an end to Paul’s career.
In an interview with iD Boxing, Chisora provided his fellow countryman with some no nonsense advice.
“Don’t get knocked out. That is it, don’t get knocked out.”
“Just box the guy, box him and just move around.”
As the ‘boxer’ in the contest, the advice is clear, Fury should box intelligently and not allow the fight to turn into a shootout.
The pair will take centre stage on Sunday night at the Diriyah Arena. UK fans can catch the acton on BT Sport Box Office, whilst if in the US you can watch live on ESPN+, with main event ringwalks expected around 7pm GMT/11am PT.
