Dillian Whyte is back on the scene and has now been giving his prediction for the fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou.
Whyte has of course twice fought Joshua himself – once in the amateurs many years ago which Whyte take the win, and then that was reversed in the professional ranks in a big bout in December 2015 when he was stopped by an uppercut at the O2 Arena in London.
The pair were due to fight again last August, but in the last few days before the fight Whyte failed a drug test so was pulled from the card and Robbert Helenius stepped in and got knocked out.
This week, news emerged that Whyte had been cleared of any wrongdoing and that it was a contaminant supplement that led to his failed tests.
Before that ring return, he has spoken to TalkSport about Joshua versus Ngannou.
“Francis Ngannou could knock him out, he’s a big strong guy. Joshua is a good champion, and Olympic medallist, he’s come back from losses.
“Ngannou has got that something not many people have and that the desire to win and push back against the odds. You can never write someone off like that. People who come from places like me and him have something special inside.
“It’s a fighter’s mindset, that’s what makes us dangerous. But AJ is a big guy and a puncher. I’ve got to go with him for this one.”
Whyte then admitted he would love to fight either men sometime down the line and Joshua for one has not ruled that out.
