Dillian Whyte Slams Christian Hammer For ‘Quitting’ During Fight: “I’m P**sed Off”

Dillian Whyte’s big comeback ended in frustration fashion this past weekend when his opponent Christian Hammer quit and left Whyte ‘p**sed off.’

Whyte was making his return to the ring after fighting to overturn the results of a failed drug test ahead of his fight with Anthony Joshua back in August last year.

That contest was canned late in the day but after a long battle Whyte managed to prove his innocence and it was agreed that the failed test was down to a contaminated supplement.

The British heavyweight was back in action in Ireland against the Romanian and inflicted a number of body shots on him early in the first round.

The same happened in the second round, and though Whyte was wild in the third the damage was done and Hammer was pulled out in the fourth round. Speaking to Boxing Social after the win, he was upset with how it ultimately went.

“Camp was exciting, I was buzzing, it was good. He just quit. What can I do, you know. I’m pissed off at myself, I went in for a lot of hell and darkness.

“I had pent-up frustration, the camp was calm, so it was due to come out of me at some point it’s just a shame it came out then. I could have gone out negative and just boxed 10 rounds on my jab, but whatever.

“I wanted to beat somebody up and it showed in the early rounds. It’s good to be back doing stuff. We’re just going to get back to work. Hammer came out swinging and the pitbull in my fought back. I made some stupid mistakes but whatever.”

Whyte will now be looking to stay more active like his peers Joshua and Joseph Parker and see how far he can get in this final chapter in his career.
