Mark Tibbs might be in Chicago as he and Dillian Whyte put the seal on their preparations ahead of the Brixton heavyweight’s American debut this weekend but he wasn’t too preoccupied to give me a quick call and an update yesterday.
Dilliam takes on Arizona based trail horse, Malcolm Tann, in an 8 rounder the undercard of Julius Indongo in Omaha, Nebraska this coming Saturday.
“Is been a good experience,” said Tibbs.
“We’ve been doing a bit in Chicago but we’re moving on to Omaha now. I think the 8 months out has been a blessing. This is the first time I’ve felt that Dillian is really at the top of his game. Not just fitters but his ring craft,” the coach explained.
Whyte goes up against Malcolm Tann (24-5, 13 KO’s).
“I have watched a bit of the opponent. You don’t take anyone lightly but it’s only an rounder and it’s about getting out again and introducing Dillian to an American audience. I’ll be watching the main event, too!”
