Daniel Dubois already has a full schedule for 2020, but the heavyweight hope fancies a fight with fellow South Londoner Dillian Whyte next year.
On Saturday, the big-punching Dubois faces Dutchman Ricardo Snijders (18-1, 8 KOs) at the BT Sport Studio in Stratford as he tunes up for a highly-anticipated October 24 showdown with fellow contender Joe Joyce.
But Dubois, arguably the best emerging talent in heavyweight boxing, would like to accommodate former WBC interim champion Whyte afterwards if all goes to plan.
“I would love to fight Dillian and beat him, though. He’s a puncher, he’s tough but he’s open, you never know – it could be next year,” Dubois (14-0, 13 KOs) told Metro.
“It would be a great fight but for now I’ve got Snijders this weekend and then hopefully a big British showdown with Joe Joyce in October.”
Dubois, still only 22, was an impressed observer as Russian veteran Alexander Povetkin shocked WBC No.1 contender Whyte via fifth-round knockout at Matchroom’s Fight Camp at the weekend.
“To be nearly 41 and doing that is something,” said Dubois. “Povetkin has proved himself now, he’s a proper boxer. He’s been raised properly, a soldier through and through.
“He never once looked fazed by going down twice in the previous round. What a gladiator he is. It’s boxing. [But Whyte] might not be able to rise back up now.”
