Ebanie Bridges has announced her next plan to ‘break all barriers and borders’ after the former IBF female bantamweight world champion was appointed as a brand ambassador for Ready To Fight, the world’s first boxing social network.
Launching her professional boxing career in 2019, Bridges quickly captured the public’s imagination. Known affectionately as the “Blonde Bomber,” she became a fixture in the sport for her spirited boxing style, along with her dynamic presence at press events and weigh-ins.
She reached the pinnacle of the sport in 2022 when she became world champion, and has now made her latest goal clear after partnering with Ready to Fight.
Ready to Fight is a smartphone app and boxing’s inaugural social media platform co-founded by Oleksandr Usyk, the reigning boxing heavyweight world champion.
Its objective is to facilitate communication and collaboration for boxers with sparring partners and managers. It will support a wide array of boxing community members, including fans, coaches, sponsors, and more, by introducing a variety of new features.
Launched in November, Ready To Fight has received a positive response from the boxing community, and already has more than 60,000 registered users and, among them, around 7,500 verified boxers.
Only 3% of the verified athletes on the platform are female though, which illustrates the huge gender gap in the boxing industry, with Bridges has explained how she plans to combat that.
“All my life I fight not only my opponents but also stereotypes about women in combat sports.
“There are many talented girls worldwide struggling with development constraints due to a lack of opportunities to find their own ‘boxing families,’ connect, and collaborate with coaches, managers, promoters, sponsors and other key figures for a boxing career.
“Ready To Fight could help them break all barriers and borders. It would allow female talents to shine through, unobstructed by traditional barriers, making the boxing world even more vibrant and full of life.”
Ready To Fight CEO Sergey Lapin has also discussed the new partnership with Bridges, and is excited for the future with the Australian.
“Our goal is to democratize our sport, make it more inclusive for talented young men and women from all over the world, wherever they live, whatever their background and financial means.
“Ebanie Bridges does an excellent job empowering women in boxing and we are glad to invite her as the first female professional boxer to become our ambassador.”
The founders of Ready To Fight envision the platform as a virtual arena that elevates female athletes, providing them with opportunities for exposure through live-streamed sparring, training insights, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content.
This initiative not only aims to elevate the visibility of female boxers but also to stimulate sponsorship opportunities.
