Eddie Hearn has once again changed his prediction for the highly anticipated fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.
All the trash talk and mind games are over, weight has been made, all that remains for Paul and Fury is to settle their feud inside the ropes.
Fans and pundits alike have found it hard to pick a winner this week, with most agreeing that this will be the toughest test of both mens career.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Hearn originally picked Jake to knock Fury out.
“Mentally, he’ll break Tommy Fury … I think he’ll mess with Tommy mentally, and I just think by the time they get in the ring, if they do get in the ring, I think Tommy will be defeated before the fight’s even taken place. And I think will win by knockout.”
The Maatchroom promoter then became more cautious and couldn’t pick a winner. During an interview with Boxing UK, he said:
“I did think that Jake Paul would win the fight, but I think I’ve changed my mind, it’s a 50/50 though which is a little bit worrying in itself.”
Now it seems Hearn has done a complete 180 on his original prediction and is now giving Paul ‘absolutely no chance’ in the fight.
Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn said:
“I’ve had a missive u-turn on this fight, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury. When I watched the press conference, Jake Paul didn’t look particularly conformable and I just feel if Tommy Fury is aggressive in this fight from the first bell there is absolutely no way he can’t win this fight.
If Tommy puts it on Jake Paul and backs him up, it doesn’t go two rounds.”
Paul vs Fury will take place this Sunday in Saudi Arabia. UK fans can catch the action on BT Sport PPV, while US fans can watch it live on ESPN+ PPV.
