Could Tony Bellew versus Tyson Fury eventually become a reality?
Fury says yes.
Bellew says yes.
And now promoter Eddie Hearn has also given Bellew his blessing live on air during an interview with Sky Sports.
After news about David Haye’s injury broke and ‘The Hayemaker’ announced he had to step aside to rehab his torn bicep, Fury was the first big name to call out Bellew.

Hearn said it’s a realistic fight for Bellew and both sides have been in talks about putting the fight together.
“It’s realistic fight for Tony Bellew. It’s a fight he wants. It’s a fight he’s spoken to Tyson Fury about, I’ve spoken to Tyson Fury about. Now we speak to his new management team about it as well. I think we are almost certain the Haye fight will be reschedulled,” told Hearn
They say I’m scared to face the giants of the division so ya know what I’ll do? I’ll fight the biggest of them all, Tyson “Stavros Flatley” Fury anytime… Get your hearing sorted @Tyson_Fury , I’ll fold you like a deck chair son! 👊 #BiggerTheyAreTheHarderTheyFallhttps://t.co/e0IROG9ajR

According to his original call out video, Fury wants to fight Bellew on May 5th at the O2 arena in London. However, Hearn says Bellew needs to fight Haye first either on March 24th or May 5th.
“Then we want Tyson Fury next,” added the promoter.
Due to Fury’s current situation, Hearn would not speculate any dates or other information regarding the possible bout. Fury is schedulled to have his final hearing with UKAD in December and is expected to get his license back from the British Boxing Board of Control.
Until then, the focus is on the Haye rematch.
“I think at the moment it would impossible to enter a fight with Tyson Fury with full of confidence of a date until certain issues are resolved around his UKAD case and his British Boxing Board of Control suspension and also his fitness as well so I think that for Tony Bellew my advice is, go and beat David Haye, again, and then fight Tyson Fury,” said Hearn.
Hearn believes Bellew has a chance against the massive 6’9″ heavyweight because of Fury’s lack of knockout power.
“In the meantime, Fury can come back and have a fight for himself but Bellew is very serious about fighting Tyson Fury. He knows that he’s a giant but he doesn’t perhaps have the punching power of Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder. Two huge characters in Bellew and Fury and that would be a very interesting heavyweight match up,” Hearn summarised.
Just to be straight, I’m getting a lot of people saying Dyson sorry Tyson Fury will beat me easily! Probably the same who said Haye would comatose me in 2. My response is if Cunningham can put him on his back when he’s in his prime then I can 💤 him! #StylesMakeFights#IFearNoOne

“I have got a massive interest in fighting Tyson Fury. He’s given me a hell of a lot of stick. Everybody’s saying I’m scared of heavyweights. They don’t come bigger than ‘Stavros Flatley’, so listen Tank Ass I’m game when you are. For once it would be nice to fight someone fatter than me,” commented Bellew whilst being a guest on Soccer AM.
If Bellew manages to settle his business with Haye and Fury gets his license back, it’s looking like a fight between the two polarizing boxers is not a long shot after all.
