American promoter Lou DiBella has joked that Eddie Hearn is a member of the ‘lucky sperm club’ whilst defending fellow promoter Bob Arum.
Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum have been engaged in another online spat, with Hearn responding to Arum’s comments about the Matchroom promoter being a ‘joke’ in the US by claiming that the 91-year-old veteran is consistently “off his head” on cannabis and edibles.
As Hearn repeated his claim once more, in a clip shared on Twitter, Lou DiBella responded and stood up for the ‘Bobfather’, Arum.
“@BobArum is 91… in fact he’s 91 TODAY!!! Happy Birthday Sheik. I have fond memories of the crazy times over the years…and even of nearly killing each other on occasion. And did this member of the lucky sperm club really ask what the Bobfather has ever done!? Gtfoh, son.”

Hearn entered the cut throat promotional game through Matchroom, a company started by his father, Barry, and was mainly built from snooker, boxing and more recently darts.
Since Hearn and Matchroom Boxing’s move from Sky Sports to DAZN, it has become easier to name American promoters that Hearn hasn’t had an online fall out with. In the year of 2022 alone, we have seen not only the war of words with the legendary Bob Arum, but also with DiBella himself, as well as Stephen Espinoza and most notably, Leonard Ellerbe.
Hearn has claimed that the four American’s have been trying to sabotage his plans to attack the United States market, as he continues to globalise DAZN’s offering and ensure they deliver the best boxing schedule in a highly competitive market.
