Eddie Hearn is always looking to ensure he has the best stable of boxers in the world and has confirmed that once more by re-signing one of his former world champions.
Sunny Edwards put his flyweight title on the line at the end of last year when he faced the highly regarded Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez.
Despite a brave showing that saw him get up from big knockdowns several times and also fight with a terrible swelling around his eye, he was eventually stopped and dethroned for the first time in his career.
Even in defeat, Edwards won immense admiration for venturing onto foreign territory to face such a formidable opponent and for providing such great entertainment throughout the high-level bout.
His promoter Hearn expressed gratitude for Edwards’ bravery inside the ring and has once again backed his man. A recent post on X by Hearn’s Matchroom promotion has confirmed the two will be working together again.

A further message suggested they are keen to get him back to world title contention with this fight against Adrian Curiel who is a former International Boxing Federation light flyweight champion, having held the title since November 2023 to February 2024.
