Sadam Ali is fresh from a unanimous decision triumph against Miguel Cotto.
Ali caused the world middleweight title to change hands when he outclassed and outworked Cotto in Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
The three judges scoring Saturday night’s fight had Ali narrowly edging a competitive fight with scores of 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112.
Managing director of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn wasted no time in announcing that Kell Brook has locked his crosshairs firmly on a fight with the newly crowned WBO world jr middleweight champion, Ali.
Eddie Hearn recently made the admission that Kell will make his return in the squared circle at the super-welterweight limit of 154 lbs.
Furthermore, Hearn detailed that his plans will include first taking a tune-up fight to get his feet wet. His focus solely set on acclimatising to his new weight class, before looking to take on the bigger challenges in the division.
Congrats on a great win @realworldkidali – @SpecialKBrook back early March then he is coming for the 154 π @GoldenBoyBoxing@HBOboxing πΊπΈπ¬π§ππΌ

Ali is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and his fight with Cotto was televised live on HBO in America.
Hearn has newly formed links with HBO following signing his fighter, the former world middleweight champion Danny Jacobs to a television contract with HBO earlier this year.
This could prove crucial and could make the match-up all that much easier to make.
Brook shared last week that he still has a lot left to give to the sport. He intends on being in the biggest fights in his new weight class.
Brook was actually offered the bout with Cotto for the date just passed with Sadam Ali.
‘The Special One’ declined that fight given he wasn’t medically cleared to be back in the gym training following breaking suffering a brutal eye injury in his bout with Errol Spence Jr.

Brook has suffered two horrific broken eye sockets in his last two fights. Kell Brook fractured his left eye socket when he surrendered his IBF world welterweight strap back in May.
That was his second consecutive fight suffering the injury.
Brook suffered the same injury to his right eye. That happened when he scaled the divisions to take on the 160 lbs divisional kingpin, Gennady Golovkin in September 2016.
Lastly, Eddie Hearn has previously stated to iFL.tv that Kell’s return to the ring, will be pencilled in for the first quarter of 2018.
Hearn said “He will return, (at the) end of February (or) early March in Sheffield at 154 lbs.”
