Eddie Hearn has dampened any speculation of a fight between Dereck Chisora and Andy Ruiz Jr.
Last week Ruiz took to Twitter and asked his followers who he should fight next which prompted the Brit to reply, ‘Want to come to London?’ The response online to the fight was positive, but Hearn told Boxing Social he has an inkling as to who the former unified heavyweight champion will fight instead.
“I think Andy Ruiz will fight Luis Ortiz. I spoke to Luis DeCubas (Ruiz manager) last night.
“I love that [Chisora-Ruiz] fight and I like the Arreola fight, so we’ll see what happens but ‘Del Boy’ is on me as well for a date. So, trying to deliver a big fight for him.”
Chisora has failed to notch up a win since stopping David Price in four rounds two and a half years ago. The veteran went on to fight Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker twice, losing each of the three fights. However, the popular 38-year-old ruled out retirement after being comprehensively beaten by the New Zealander three months ago.
