Eddie Hearn’s war of words with promotional rival Boxxer continues as the Matchroom CEO now claims that one of his fighters was banned from attending one of his rival’s events.
Eddie Hearn’s relationship with Sky Sports and Boxxer has hit another rough patch, with tensions escalating over the potential bout between Dalton Smith and Adam Azim.
Hearn has taken aim at Sky Sports and Boxxer in the past and said that they might withdraw Azim from the fight after they were ordered to vie for the British and European titles.
This weekend Smith impressed with a fifth-round knockout win over the three-time world title challenger Jose Zepeda and in the ring afterwards Hearn taunted Azim and Boxxer and said he wouldn’t dare take the fight with Smith.
Now, speaking to Boing Social, he has made another claim that will stoke the tensions and build further beef between the two British rivalries by revealing that Boxxer wouldn’t give Smith tickets to go and watch Azim’s last fight, but that he will be going to his next one.
“They wouldn’t give him tickets for the last one, which is pretty weird and sad, but that’s the world we live in.
“They don’t really know what they’re doing, so when you don’t know what you’re doing, you don’t do anything. They need to get the kid in the office, they already know they’re not taking the fight. “
No official word has yet been given about whether or not Azim will take the fight but now pressure is building so a decision will have to be made soon.
