Joseph Parker amped up the trash talking a bit recently and said he would smile at Anthony Joshua’s punches in their upcoming unification bout on March 31st.
The WBO World heavyweight champion made it clear that he isn’t scared of Joshua’s power and plans to finish him should he hurt ‘AJ’ the same way Wladimir Klitschko did.

“If he hits me in the chin and doesn’t hurt me then obviously I’ll smile and try my best to hit him back,” said Parker.
“I know that if I got him into the trouble (Wladimir) Klitschko got him into, I wouldn’t have let him off the pedal. I would put the pedal down and have chased him around,” continued the Kiwi in his interview with Sky Sports.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has commented on Parker’s remarks and said the 26-year-old has another thing coming.
“Apparently he’s going to laugh when Anthony Joshua hits him on the chin. I hope he doesn’t. If he does, I think we’ve got something to worry about, because when Anthony Joshua hits you on the chin, I don’t think laughing is one thing you’ll be doing. But interesting comment,” responded Hearn to Sky.
Parker’s team have brought it up many times that the Kiwi has never been dropped in his amateur or pro career. Hearn thinks that will change in Cardiff.

“They say he’s got a granite chin, but he’s never been hit with the ferocity and speed of Anthony Joshua.
“It’s going to be a huge event on March 31 and one we cannot wait for,” told Hearn.
“He [Joshua] actually wanted to get stuck in with David Higgins and Joseph Parker, and they were just a little bit on the cautious side, and that’s why I was trying to egg Higgins on to have a go.
“Since they’ve been back, they’ve been talking again, there is a little bit of spite. ‘The Gloves are Off’ was good. It was frosty at times.
“But a lot is on the line. This isn’t just about talking. This is about the unified heavyweight championship of the world,” Hearn concluded
Tensions are rising between the two fighters with Parker’s constant verbal jabs. One can only expect more fireworks in the coming month and especially during fight week.
The massive unification fight between Joshua and Parker will commence on March 31 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Joshua will put his WBA super, IBF and IBO belts on the line against Parker’s WBO World title in a winner take all showdown.
