Ellie Scotney claims she has been removed from the Taylor vs Cameron undercard, at the request of one half of the main event.
Scotney had been due to face Cherneka Johnson for the IBF super bantamweight world title, in what was undoubtedly the biggest fight of her professional career thus far.
The 6-0 fighter was last out in October of 2022 – a unanimous decision victory over Spain’s Mary Romero.
However, Scotney claimed on Twitter last night that Cameron’s team insist she be taken of the bill, due to the latter’s relationship with Scotney’s trainer Shane McGuigan.
“I am incredibly disappointed to say that I am now hearing I will be removed from the May 20th card in Dublin due to Chantelle Cameron and her manager insisting to my promoter that I’m not allowed to be on her undercard because of who trains me. This is despite having been on two cards together before with no problems whatsoever!”
“After my world title fight had been announced (on a huge night globally for women’s boxing), my dream is now being taken away from me by a fellow fighter dictating terms and making unreasonable demands to my promoter. I cannot describe how heartbroken I am.”

Cameron split with McGuigan back in 2019, alongside a host of other fighters who all then began working with Manchester based trainer Jamie Moore.
There has been an outpouring of support on social media for Scotney, with many fans calling for promoter Eddie Hearn to reinstate her to the card.
It remains unclear at this stage whether or not there will be a replacement bout added to the card, which will be the first major boxing show on Irish soil in years.
