Chris Eubank Jr has spoken out on Conor Benn’s adverse test result ahead of their scheduled clash on Saturday night and, contrary to comments from Benn, insists the two haven’t spoken since the news broke this afternoon.
Speaking to DAZN at the open workouts for the fight, Eubank also stated his desire to for the fight to go ahead and echoed the words of his promoter Kalle Sauerland that conversations were on going with the British Boxing Board of Control.
“There was no phone call. We haven’t spoken since this has all been announced. It’s a shame.”
“Our promoters and the BBoC are going to sort it out. Im ready, I’m clean. I’ve been tested more than I ever have been for this fight.”
“I don’t obviously condone illegal substances in the sport of boxing but I’m staying out of the politics. All I can do is be a professional and make sure I’m ready to fight.”
“It’s now in the hands of the promoters and the governing bodies to make this fight happen.”
“Of course, there are concerns. I can’t really say too much but I’m prepared and I’m ready.”

The boxing world went into meltdown this afternoon when it was reported by the Daily Mail that an adverse finding had been found in a VADA test submitted by Benn, plunging the generational fight into serious jeopardy.
The BBoC released a statement announcing they would be prohibiting the contest from taking place, however both fighters’ promotional teams have since said they will be looking to rectify this so the fight can proceed at the 02 this weekend.
