The time for talking is soon coming to a close and this weekend, Chris Eubank and George Groves will finally face off in the ring. We will witness the hotly anticipated WBSS semi-final and we will finally find out who has been fooling who.
Both fighters have extensive experience of facing one another, but that action came inside the gym with countless hours of sparring shared between them.
Both combatants have claimed to have got the upper hand in those sparring sessions. Leaving much ambiguity and a lack of clarity.

Long before the semi-final matchup was even announced, both fighters have been at each other’s throats with verbal barbs.
“This is a fight that the public (has) been demanding for years now, between me and George. It’s a grudge match and we are legitimate rivals.
It’s going to be explosive, it’s going to be no holds barred, exciting, fanatic and everything you could want in a super-fight,” Eubank told WS County Times.
“I know that because of our styles, we are both exciting and offensive fighters we like to throw our hands, we are not afraid to get into a brawl and get stuck in.”

“I believe I have every advantage possible over George Groves coming into this fight, mentally, physically, spiritually, every aspect of boxing I believe I can outperform him.”
Most importantly, this match-up has been billed as somewhat of a tough fight to call. But not from Eubank Jr’s point of view.
He shared his happiness that the public perception is that it is an even matchup. Eubank claims that it makes for a better spectacle but there are no doubts in his mind.
“It’s not a 50-50 fight but I’m happy. A lot of the general public believe that it is a 50-50 fight because it makes the occasion much more exciting.”

“I like the fact that people genuinely believe that I can’t win.”
“Because when I do do it, and I stop this guy and take his belt and bring it back to Brighton it makes the achievement all the more amazing.”
