Chris Eubank Sr Reveals Reason Why He Thinks Conor Benn Is Innocent

Chris Eubank Sr thinks that Conor Benn is innocent despite failing a drug test in the run-up to his proposed fight with Chris Eubank Jr in October 2022.

This long-running drama seemed to officially come to an end last week when Eddie Hearn declared that despite his best ongoing efforts, he had finally given up on making Benn versus Eubank for a second time after the first fight was canned in fight week owing to Benn’s adverse VADA test findings.

Benn remains without license to fight under the auspices of the British Boxing Board of Control and Eubank has now turned to calling out the likes of an undefeated Kazakh.

Speaking to UpFront with Simon Jordan, Eubank Snr was asked if he believed Benn had taken PEDs.

“No. How can I believe it when I saw him go on to the Piers Morgan show?

Jordan suggested it was the wrong show to go on and that Benn was unprepared and ‘made a fool of himself.’

“And that’s exactly why he is innocent. That’s what innocents do. They’re naive.”

Finally, he again gave Benn and his Matchroom backers the benefit of the doubt.

“They’re not bad. Everyone is out to protect their own kingdom, and we have to be forgiving.”

It seems his son is less forgiving and has now moved on from this ill-fated British grudge match, while Benn has also begun calling out other fighters such as two-weight champion Devin Haney.
