Fans Take To Social Media To Slam ‘Dreadful’ Fury – Chisora PPV Price

It was announced today that to tune in to the broadcast of Tyson Fury’s voluntary title defence against Derek Chisora on BT Sport Box Office, fans must fork out £26.95.

The news was met with a wave of criticism from fans online, many of whom already disagreed with the matchmaking of the WBC heavyweight title fight. Fury has two victories over Chisora, and many see it as an unnecessary trilogy given the other potential fights out there for ‘The Gypsy King.’

On top of that, the public negotiations with Anthony Joshua clearly got people’s hopes up only to end up disappointing for the second time this year.

With all of that in mind, finding out that the PPV price for the Fury – Chisora event was more expensive than his last title defence against Dillian Whyte (£24.95) was the final straw for many fans.

Responding to the news, one Twitter user said ‘Could have been £6 and none of us are buying. For almost 30 quid you can forget it’ whilst another said they would tune in for the highlights despite Fury being they’re favourite fighter.

Many people announced that they would be resorting to illegal streaming to watch the bout, although plenty did say that they wouldn’t be tuning in at all to protest the price hike.

The overall response could be described as outrage. In fact, it was almost impossible to find anything positive said about the announcement at all. To sum up the feelings of his peers, one fan said that he wouldn’t watch the fight if he was paid the twenty-odd quid to do so.

The fight is set for December 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will be broadcast live on BT Sport Box Office for, as everyone now knows, £26.95
