Rivalries amongst promotions and promoters are often even more fierce than those between their fighters, and now Forbes have released a list detailing which boxing promotions are the most valuable.
In a shock twist in recent months, two of the most antagonistic and opposing promoters of the past – Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, have put their differences aside for the greater good of boxing.
It’s a move that is hoped to be a turning point for the sport that signals a period of togetherness and willingness to work with one another.
Their newfound partnership has blossomed so much so that the duo will partake in a ‘Matchroom versus Queensberry’ in around six weeks’ time in Saudi Arabia, with a gentleman’s wager on the line as well as pride and world titles.
However, Matchroom and Eddie Hearn are yet to discover that same hospitality since their venture into the United States, although Forbes has now revealed that the British firm is leading the way in terms of the value of the world’s boxing promotions:
- UFC (Valued at $11.3bn)
- WWE (Valued at $6.8bn)
- AEW (Valued at $2bn)
- ONE Championship (Valued at $1.3bn)
- Matchroom Boxing (Valued at $850m)
- PFL (Valued at $690m)
- Top Rank Boxing (Valued at $630m)
- Premier Boxing Championship (Valued at $600m)
- Golden Boy Promotions (Valued at $450m)
- Combate Global (Valued at $120m)
There are of course other metrics for success and with DAZN’s billion-pound investment into Matchroom, it should be expected that Hearn’s outfit is at the top of the crop.
Additionally, with 19 world champions in their stable, Matchroom also boast the most success inside of the ring, with Top Rank’s 11 champions positioning them as the closest competitor.
