Boxing legend George Foreman gave tons of high praises to the current WBA super, IBF & IBO World heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in a recent interview with The Sun.
Foreman, a former two-time heavyweight champion himself, believes Joshua is the number one heavyweight boxer on the planet. A potential fight between Joshua and current WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder would be a modern classic in boxing according to ‘Big George’.
“I think he’s a legitimate heavyweight champion. He’s on the top of the list as far as one to beat.
“One day when they put together the Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder fight, it would probably be one of the greatest heavyweight fights in boxing in the modern day.
“Anthony Joshua is something special,” commented Foreman.
Foreman especially complimented Joshua’s physical attributes and athleticism.

“What Anthony Joshua has is what every group of fighters should – he is conditioned.
“This guy works out, gets in the ring, gets knocked down in the 11th-round but he’s got legs to get up and fight and even earn a knockout like he did against Klitschko.
“He has the condition and the will to win. He could’ve existed in any era,” said Foreman.
Foreman famously won a world title for the second time when he was over 40-years-old but had to do it because of financial troubles. The boxing legend hopes Joshua won’t go through the same issues as a professional prizefighter.
I think he’s a good fighter and if he has god matches made then he can probably leave boxing about when he is 30.
“He can be done at that age. And he will be remembered as one of the greatest of champions of the world.
“I came back in boxing because I was broke I and I don’t wish anybody to become broke at 40-years-old and have to box again. And I certainly wouldn’t want Anthony Joshua to,” told Foreman.
The biggest heavyweight fight in British boxing history is the inevitable bout between Joshua and Tyson Fury. But when asked about the massive all domestic showdown, the American claimed he’s never even heard of Fury.
“Sorry. I don’t know anything about that nor the fighter.”
After his boxing prime Foreman famously made millions of with his trademark patented ‘Foreman Grill’. He also became a spokesperson for a car centre, launched multiple various product lines, started a restaurant franchise and wrote numerous books.
