Carl Frampton has weighed in on the huge heavyweight clash between Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker – and it’s clear ‘The Jackal’ is struggling on this one!
Speaking to Boxing Social, Frampton weighed up several factors and even said if he was betting £1, he’d stick it on a draw!
However, eventually the former two-weight world champion stated he believed Parker would just about edge the fight.
“It’s a really difficult one to call, really difficult and I have been sitting on the fence. I think if I had a pound, I’d put it on the draw! I think it’s going to be that close.”
“But if you ask me for a winner, I’d just about edge Parker on points.”
“I think it’s a fight of two halves, I think he’ll win the first half and Joyce will win the second half but Parker could do enough to nick a round or two in the second half – that’s the sort of fight I think it’ll be.”
Frampton is not alone in struggling to pick between the two heavyweights, with fans seemingly split down the middle and the bookmakers’ odds being incredibly close.
With the WBO interim world title on the line, the winner on Saturday night is either guaranteed a world title shot or will automatically become world champion should the WBO title become vacant.
That said, the stakes could not be higher for Joyce and Parker in the famous Manchester Arena, with the fight being make or break for the world title ambitions of both men.
