Olympic bronze medallist, Frazer Clarke, has revealed his prediction ahead of Anthony Joshua’s upcoming rematch against Dillian Whyte as one of Britain’s biggest heavyweight rivalries draws to a close.
Joshua and Whyte’s story dates back to their days as amateurs, where the latter knocked ‘AJ’ down and dealt his fellow Londoner with his first taste of defeat.
However, in the professional ranks it was a different story – Joshua avenged the loss in style, knocking Whyte out on the big stage and leaving ‘The Body Snatcher’ sprawled out on the ropes.
With the pair scheduled to meet again on August 12, Clarke told October Red that he predicts Joshua will get the job done in even better fashion than last time out.
“Everybody needs a dance partner in their careers and they are each others domestically. They can sell-out any arena. It’s intriguing, I think Joshua wins and he wins better than last time even. But there are questions there and one thing I know about Dillian Whyte is he’s made of the right stuff, he’s a fighter.”
‘Big Fraze’ boxed as an amateur for over twelve years and was a ringside securing guard when Joshua last met Whyte in the ring, but now he is chasing glory of his own. After seven victories, with five knockout wins, Clarke is preparing to challenge for Fabio Wardley’s British title and hopefully more.
However, the 31-year-old may be made to wait, after pulling out of the purse bids when he was called as the mandatory challenger to fight Wardley, with promoter, Ben Shalom, saying that he wants to see Clarke in ten-round fights before taking on the champion.
Instead, David Adeleye seems set to step up to the plate, after the BBBofC ordered him as Clarke’s replacement for Wardley’s first title defence.
