Former unified WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA (Super) and Lineal heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has received some good news.
Fury’s UK anti-doping hearing will reconvene next month, as his long-awaited return to the ring draws ever closer.
“December, that’s true,” said Robert Smith. Mr Robert Smith is the British Boxing Board of Control’s general secretary and was asked by Sky Sports when Fury’s hearing will be reopened.
Smith shifted the blame, in the delay in Fury’s case totally on the Fury’s. This is due to nobody in Tyson’s team specifying a date directly to the BBBoC.
“The reason why this has taken so long, so I have been led to believe, is because Mr Fury’s legal team could not agree (to) a date for the recommencement of the hearing.
“They obviously now have, and the hearing will recommence;” Mr Smith commented.

Fury aimed an outlandish verbal attack on the BBBoC in September. This followed a prolonged period of waiting for the date of the hearing; on the other hand, Robert Smith has rebuffed such claims.
Mr Smith confirmed that the powers that be, have always sought to conclude the case, as soon as possible.
“From the beginning, UK Anti-Doping has pushed for resolution of the charges as quickly as possible and has invested significant resources in trying to achieve this.”
“There are various reasons why, nevertheless, the charges have not yet been heard on the merits.”

“It is, therefore, inaccurate to suggest either that UK Anti-Doping is failing to pursue these charges as quickly as possible or that Mr Tyson Fury and Mr Hughie Fury [who was also charged] are being treated differently to other athletes.”
Tyson Fury has been very vocal on social media recently. ‘The Gypsy King’ called out world heavyweight champions such as Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua.
Most recently, on Monday following David Haye’s withdrawal to his fight with Tony Bellew. Tyson Fury called out Bellew and seemed to hype a potential matchup for the first quarter of 2018.
