WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury insists he will fight in December whether Deontay Wilder is in the other corner or not.
With the Covid-19 Pandemic continuing to wreak havoc on life and the boxing schedule, Fury is still waiting for a concrete date for his contracted trilogy fight with former WBC title holder Wilder.
Earlier this week, co-promoter Bob Arum suggested that the clash might be brought forward from its provisional December 19 date at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas due to a packed American football schedule.
Fury remains in the dark, but maintains he just wants to fight, having been out of action since destroying Wilder in seven rounds in February.
“I’m supposed to be boxing on December 19 in Las Vegas against Deontay Wilder in the trilogy, but every two days I hear a different story – they’re trying to bring it forward a week or put it back a week, whatever,” Fury told Talksport.
“The one thing I want to announce to the world is I will be fighting in December, whether it’s Wilder in Las Vegas, or if it’s Joe Bloggs in England.
“I want to fight now! I’m ready to go today, tomorrow, next week or the next couple of months.
“I made it very clear that if we can’t fight in America, I want to come back to the UK and do a homecoming.”
Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) hasn’t fought in the UK since outpointing Francesco Pianeta (W10) in Belfast in August 2018 and last appeared in England halting Sefer Seferi (WRTD4) in Manchester two months earlier.
