Hailed as a mega star in waiting by promoter Oscar De La Hoya, Ryan Garcia believes he will put the world of boxing on notice with a crushing victory over Luke Campbell when they meet for the WBC interim 135lbs title on January 2.
De La Hoya wants to showcase Garcia’s talents in an eye-catching locale with Cancun beach and the Aztec pyramids already mooted as stunning backdrops to the Californian’s stiffest test as a pro to date.
Regardless of the venue, Garcia (20-0, 17 KOs) is promising a destructive performance against seasoned, two-time world title challenger Campbell.
“I know I’m going to beat Luke Campbell and knock him out within three rounds. I’m 100% sure of that,” Garcia told comedian Kevin Hart on his show ‘Cold As Balls’.
“This fight is going to be the biggest fight of my life so far. This is going to put me on that level where I get that respect. I think this fight will solidify me as one of the best in the world right now.
“I know I’m going to beat Luke Campbell and knock him out within three rounds, and I’m very, very, very sure of that – 100 percent sure.”
