Heavyweight legend George Foreman offered some advice to Errol Spence Jr following his devastating loss to Terence Crawford last month.
In the biggest fight of his career and with the undisputed welterweight world championship on the line, Spence was outboxed, beat up and ultimately stopped by the immaculate Crawford, who put on arguably the finest showing of his own campaign.
Despite the one-sided nature of the defeat, ‘Big George’ offered some words of encouragement on X to the Texan and referenced some of the greats of yesteryear who suffered similarly crushing nights – including himself.
“Just a loss; Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson; Muhammad Ali and yours truly kissed the canvas. But we all made a better comeback. It has has never been about just winning. “
“The true Champs always get up and try again. Who’s that on the floor? What a lonely place to be. Flat on you face.”

It remains unclear what Spence’s next move will be, though he stated his desire to have another crack at Crawford in the post fight press conference last month.
So one sided and brutal was the fight that concerns for Spence’s long term health and well being emerged, particularly if he he decides to dust himself down for second showdown with ‘Bud.’
He has a contractual rematch clause, meaning ‘Bud’ will have no choice but to face him again should he decide to activate it.
‘The Truth’ will have until the end of this month to decide whether he wants to do just that or go down a different route.
